Word is that someone has invited Van Halen to perform at the Hackerspace. They're a big fan of M&Ms, but as we all know, they don't like the brown ones! We could take them all out by hand, but that strikes us as a little tedious. We're hackers - surely we can build a machine to do it for us!

Your mission is to build a machine that can sort M&Ms by colour. You'll compete with other teams over six weeks to win some great prizes.

A reminder that I'll be running a presentation and demo on 3D printing this Sunday the 12th, from 4:30 PM in the Band Room at the Brisbane Hotel. Come along and see the whole 3D printing process from 3D modelling in Blender, to slicing in Skeinforge, to printing with a Makerbot Thing-o-Matic. We'll also have a presentation on modelling with Google Sketchup if you're interested in learning that tool.
